Dear sir,
Sun does not belong to any religion. Nor does water belong to any religion. Simply because the Sun is called as Surya which is a Sanskrith word of Hindu religion, we cannot allow Hindus to own the sun God. Similarly, if water is an English word, to denote 'Jalam", we cannot allow the water to be owned by the Britishers.
Similarly, yoga is to unite the material person with the spiritual person. This is discovered by the mankind long long ago by a certain section of people belonging to a particular religion. Therefore it cannot be owned by the discovers. As the medicine is used by all people of all religions, there cannot be christian chemistry, Islamic chemistry or Hindu chemistry. Yoga and AUM is also the property of entire mankind though they are discovered by the people of particular religion long long ago.
The etymological meaning and the scientific background are rational and objective. There applications are also universal. Therefore everybody has a right to be benefited by yoga and in its practice use AUM as we use water while taking a medicine.
